"When the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit nurses wanted to onboard new nurses to their unit, they turned to CELA. The process of “landing a heart” directly from surgery is complex and must be tightly orchestrated. Through the use of simulation, this very specific skill can be rehearsed in a safe, controlled environment. This scenario and others provide a hands-on component to the new nurses’ typical didactic training. Both clinical skills and teamwork are focused on to provide improved patient safety."
